Deja Vu…

Once again I have somehow managed to not blog in about a month. I’ve been thinking about blogging on the low, but didn’t allow myself to get involved with it. Now that I’m staring at the template, I feel back at home… How I’ve missed my love, the blog!

Let me quit with all of that nonsense lol. Things have been pretty busy as of late. As most of you in the poker community know, the WCOOP just ended on Sunday. It was three weeks of hell. I had a couple cashes, couple deep runs, but nothing really substantial. I was having a good week last week in MTTs. I finished 1st in the 100 turbo on stars, and got three handed vs Thayer and DFish in the $163 on FTP. I finished third in that, which was disappointing to say the least.

You might have been wondering why I said “I was having a good week…” in the paragraph above. That is because even a couple decent scores last week were overshadowed by no success in WCOOP events. It is definitely frustrating. The WCOOPs are a whole different beast. The structures are absolutely insane. It can be tough to adjust to the long levels and 20+ hours of poker online. I think I played very well overall during the series, but that isn’t to say I can’t/couldn’t play better. That is how MTT poker is as well. If you don’t have immediate results or success, you apparently don’t know what you’re doing. Variance is either your best friend, or your worst enemy. Don’t let it get the best of you though.

Now that the WCOOP is over, I am taking a couple days off from playing online. I am heading to New York tomorrow to teach a DeepStacks Live course at the Seneca Casino in Niagara Falls (on the US side.) On Sunday I am going to go to the Bills vs. Jets NFL game with Chris (DeepStacks CEO) and Mike Matusow. Hopefully some of my buddies from Toronto can make it down. It would be cool if I could take a day trip to Toronto and see the city. I’ve heard great things but have never been.

Other than that, I have just been working out, playing basketball, playing poker, coaching poker, and… oh and I am looking to buy a car. I’m not sure what I will get yet. Nothing too fancy or anything. I am thinking about getting a nice, used car with low mileage. When I figure it out I will let you guys know. Any suggestions or advice, throw it at me!

I will have some other news to announce in the next couple of days/weeks so that should also be exciting! I will wait to see how things develop before I talk about it here, but expect a blog post about it soon. I will be back blogging more frequently again. Goodnight and good luck.

I also edited the WSOP video coverage I had in the last post. The video was removed on youtube.
